To channel our collaborative energy towards solutions that can live, breathe, and thrive in the world, we turn constraints – conditions, needs, measures, etc. – into “lenses”. These lenses are engaging tools, illuminating filters we pass our work through, sharpening our ideas and honing them into solutions primed to use the shape of the present to illuminate the future.

In this space we imagine – together – what could move us from Here to There: the world we want to build. In this space, inspiration is given free reign, then, when the time comes to transmute inspiration into action, we make the edges of our circle permeable, applying the lenses we’ve created to the boundaries, passing our sparks through them to create testable, impactful actualizations ready to meet the real world.

In game design we often say: ideas are the easy part. Turning those ideas into joy, motivation, and meaning: that's a different shaped challenge altogether. And a critical one. After all, ideas are worth nothing if they cannot evolve into action.
Rather than constructing more tangled systems that block out the light, why not create nimble, rapid solutions ready to thrive in it? Often in our efforts to eliminate risk, we seek planned perfection. This spawns labyrinthine blueprints for systems that, in seeking to serve everyone, end up serving no one. We find ourselves surrounded by the gleaming machines of these designs: made for risk-averse durability, they are rigid and static, and in that, ultimately, doomed. Decay is inevitable; it takes a malleable dynamism to unlock its power, to transform the truth of decay into boundless evolution. Instead of planning, we must start making.
The sooner we make, the sooner we learn. The sooner we learn, the sooner we improve. The sooner we improve, the sooner we reach worthwhile destinations. With the power of rapid prototyping (make small, make fast, make precise) we create living solutions: actualizations born hungry to adapt. The process of making, listening, and improving is constant; it is a muscle, strengthened with use. It is the exercise we were made to do, an exercise that matches the truth of our world, and when we unlock the joy in it, the power in it, the possibility, there’s no where we cannot go, together.
